The best way to be sure your menu pleases everyone and is flexible enough to accommodate last-minute guests is to plan a buffet . Let everyone help themselves to their favorite dishes and sample some festive new ones .

One of the most important secrets for staging a successful party is to keep the guests circulating ... set up a bar and buffet as far away from each other as possible in the room , the guests are encouraged to get up , move around , munch and socialize throughout the evening .
