Food for Thought : New Year's resolutions -- Health & wellness

Father  teaching son to bowl .
As thoughts turn to new Year's Resolutions  for health and wellness , make sure  you make  your goals a family  affair . While it is important  to set personal goals  , creating  goals that include  the entire family  can be very beneficial . Not only  do children  develop  healthier habits  for their future  when they are modeled  by parents  for them , but the entire family  benefits  now from healthy behaviors . Here  are a few tips  to help you and your family  bring in 2016 with some healthy habits :
1 .  Make sure you are a good role model . Avoid fad diets  or unhealthy plans  just to quickly lose a few pounds . Let your  children  see you making  plans for  healthy  meals  and exercise .
2 .  Start a system to evaluate your family's meals . It doesn't have to  be complex , just something  your  kids  understand . A system  that uses happy or sad faces  for a little one  , or a system  that uses grades (A , B , C , etc) for kids in school . Make it a point to aim  for mostly high scoring  items with each meal .
3 .  Plan family time  around  activities  . Bowling  , hiking and miniature  golf  are great  ways  to start out  slow  when it comes to  getting everyone  active . Designate  areas  indoors  and outdoors  that are for physical activity  , and invest  in small  items  that are for physical activity  such as balls  , jump ropes , etc .

    1. Hello my dear Grands ,
Yes , I am trying to help your mother , all the sites get attention but this one , as you know this red thing is my favorite . I am so glad all of you have fun in Reno , Bubba always wanted your daddy to bite his apple , he was missing his 2 front teeth . I will never forget , he would grin at your daddy all the time .
Tell your teacher , I will help her in her classroom , my pay is reasonable .
I love all of you and you are so special to me . Your daddy will have to catch me first , I will tell your mama on him .

  2. Hello G.
Welcome back and this was a good post to start with , I called Anita to ask how old was Bubba , she said he had just turned 6 and was in Reno on vacation . They are growing like weeds . I love the way they take time with the kids , I think Chris and Gil make their schedules around those kids .
Is Nee feeling better , I will bring over the soup a little later .
Keep up the good work .
PS: Tell Harvey to bring his butt home .

    1. Hello Jean and Harvey'
Jean Harvey is here , Harvey said to tell you he will come home if you let him play with the honeypot (laughing my butt off ).
Bubba was 6 at the time , Chris was 55 , I do believe Chris is 10 years older than Nee . Those guys put their kids first and ask them what they want to do and go .
Gil has been home all day trying to keep Nee in bed , Jean you know Nee , She is feeling better and no fever , Gil made her a strong toddy , so she is watching TV or reading .
I do so hope the soup is spicy , I want some now .
I will get back to my routine as time passes .

Joanna , my dear lady , I will continue the words of wisdom . Getting myself together now since everyone is gone .
I said the same thing when I pull it out , I am so glad you told me to date each picture , which is a great help .
I laughed when CC told us Bubba told Henry his name was Anthony , but since Henry was my brother , he could call him Tony .
