Mulled Dr. Pepper ------------slow cooker
Prep : 10 minutes ...Cook : 2 hours ....makes 10 servings
8 ....................cups Dr. Pepper
1/4 .................cup packed brown sugar
1/4 .................cup lemon juice
1/2 .................teaspoon ground allspice
1/4..................teaspoon salt
1/4 .................teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 .................teaspoon whole cloves
3 ....................cinnamon
In a 3-quart slow cooker , combine the first 6 ingredients . Place cinnamon sticks and cloves on a double thickness of cheesecloth ; bring up corners of the cloth and tie with kitchen string to form bag . Place in slow cooker . Cover and cook on low for 2 hours or until desired temperature is reached . Discard spice bag .
When neighbors or friends visit on a chilly evening , I'll serve this warm beverage .
I serve it holidays at my buffets ... I spike it with a small amout of liquor ... be sure to have 2 punch bowls ... one for spike and one unspike ... remember they have to drive home .

This sounds great. I am going to try it. How much whiskey would you add? A cup?
