Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups yellow cornmeal
Directions:

Whisk together dry components first, then add the remaining ingredients, and mix thoroughly.

Heat frying oil to 360°F.

Scoop "Tablespoon" sized portions into the hot oil.

Cook until golden brown or 2 1/2 minutes (be careful NOT to overcook, hushpuppies become really hard).

Remove from the hot oil and drain on paper towel and/or brown paper bag.

I cook this recipe for hushpuppies all the time ... they are so good and crunchy .
ReplyDeleteI use boiling hot water instead of milk ... It makes the hushpuppies soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside .
