Pork Chops with Sauerkraut


Prep: ... 25 minutes ... Cook: ...5 hours  ...makes 4 servings

4 ...............bone-in center cut pork loin chops (8 ounces each and 1/2-inch thick)
2 ...............tablespoons vegetable oil
1 ...............jar (32 ounces ) sauerkraut , undrained
3/4 ...........cup packed brown sugar 
1 ...............medium pepper , sliced
1 ...............medium onion , sliced

1)      In a large skillet  over medium heat , brown  pork chops  in oil for 3 to 4 minutes  on each side  ; drain .
2)      In a 5-quart slow cooker  , combine  the sauerkraut and brown sugar . Top with thepork chops  , green pepper  and onion  . Cover and cook  on low for 3 to 3-1/2 hours oruntil  a meat thermometer  reads 160* . Serve with a slotted spoon .

Tender pork chops are paired with tangy sauerkraut  in this filling  main dish . It's a snap to put together .
