Creole Oven-Fried Drumsticks
Prep Time : 5 minutes ... Baking Time : 30 minutes
1/4 cup vegetable oil (olive oil)
1/2 cup all-purpose flour baking mix
1 tablespoon paprika
2 teaspoons Creole seasoning
1 teaspoon seasoning salt
1 teaspoon galic powder
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
10 drumsticks
1) Preheat oven to 450*F . Poor the vegetable oil (olive oil) evenly over bottom of 15-X 10-X 1-inch baking pan
2) Combine the baking mix , paprika , creole seasoning , seasoned salt, garlic powder , Italian seasoning and black pepper in a large bowl . Mix well . Pour into a paper bag ( or large plastie freezer bag).
3) Ad the chicken drumsticks , a few at a time , to the bag and shake to coat . Arranged on the prepared baking dish .
4) Bake chicken , turning once , until jucies run clear when pierced with the tip of a knife , about 30 minutes . Transfer to a serving dish .
Spice Sercet :
Creole seasoning contains black pepper , cayenne pepper , garlic power , oregano and sometime thyme and paprika , most of which are found in other seasoning in this recipe . If you prefer not to purchase a separate jar of Creole seasoning , slightly increase the amount of the other seasonings.
Better Baking :
The chicken will cook more quickly and evenly if you fit it in the pan in a singlr layer . If you don't have a pan large enough , divide the oil and chicken drumsticks between two pans .
